He was born in El Paso and was a lifelong resident. He attended El Paso Community College and was employed as a Respiratory Therapist for many years.
He enjoyed hobbies such as bowling, reading, collecting stamps, coins, and film memorabilia.
He will most be remembered for his humorous personality, always bringing joy and laughter to everyone he met.
He is survived by his long-term girlfriend Lauralee Tracy, his brother Salvador Soto and wife Maritza Soto, sister Lucy Shulla and husband Frank Shulla. He is also survived by four loving nephews, four nieces, three grand nephews and four grand nieces. Although he didn’t have children of his own, he loved and considered all his nephews and nieces as his own. He considered himself blessed. John leaves behind many friends from around the globe, and two loving pets. He is preceded in death by his parents Juan F. Soto and Elvira Soto.
The memorial service will be held on January 27th, 2023, from 4:00pm-7:00pm at Crestview Funeral Home, 1462 N. Zaragoza Rd, El Paso, Tx 79936.
