John Richard Shockley Jr, April 2, 2012, Age 68, lifelong resident of El Paso, born in Fabens, TX on August 11, 1943. He retired in 2006 after a long career in the airlines and twin plant maquilla industry. John “Popsy” loved the Lord, his family and especially his grandbabies!! He loved Mickey Mouse, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans, UTEP Miners, Whataburger, western movies and collecting Nascar toy cars and trucks. His true hobby was working on cars to sell even though he usually ended up keeping them or giving them away. He was preceded in death by Father, John R Shockley, Grandparents, Perry & Myrtle Shockley, WT & Margaret Hardy. Survived by wife Mary Jane “Janie” Shockley, children Kim Brookshire (Bobby) and John “Scooter” Shockley (Jessica). Grandkids Shaylene (21), Tori(16), Wyatt(6) and Bennett(4). Great-Granddaughter, Preslie (1 ½). Mother Lilla Lee Shockley, brother Buster (Gina), as well as many aunts, nieces, nephews and extended family. Memorial service will be Friday, April 6, 2012, at 11:00 am at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 7000 Edgemere Blvd (25). There will be a reception immediately after the service at the church and procession to Evergreen East Cemetery will be at 1:00pm. Family and friends are welcome to come by the house following burial. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Pauls UMC.
