Johnny was born on January 18th, 1937, in El Paso, Texas to Josephine (Fincher) and William Moeller. He graduated from Austin High School in 1955, after which he proudly served in the US Army for three years on a tour to Germany. Johnny, like his father “Willie”, worked for “Ma Bell” telephone company for 43 years, he serving one year longer than his father.
Johnny and Stella Grijalva married on June 13th, 1970, in Carlsbad, New Mexico, and lovingly raised two daughters, Geri Lynne and Christa.
A lifelong resident of El Paso, Johnny lived a full life with many interests and hobbies that kept him busy. Johnny always had a love for science and astronomy. He loved to watch Cosmos and Star Trek, and he was a tinkerer who loved to learn how things worked. He could fix anything! He once built a television set from a "Heathkit" that the family enjoyed watching for many years.
Johnny had many passions. He was a World War II buff who loved airplanes - sometimes going out into the desert near the airport to watch the airplanes take off and land. He showed his creative side with crafting model airplanes and motorcycles as well as knives, leatherwork, and welding creations. He loved the Dallas Cowboys and his football - hardly ever missing a game, and loved riding motorcycles and target shooting almost as much.
Cats held a very special place in his heart, and the family was blessed with a few very special ones that he loved dearly.
Johnny is preceded in death by his sister Karlene Collins, cousins Will Anne Ricer and Ernest "Ernie" Moeller.
Johnny is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Stella, his daughters Christa Moeller and Geri Britton, grandchildren Felisha Britton, Aaron Moeller, and Halie Hall, great grandchild Trey Bruce, nieces Melissa Leslie, Michele Vergara, and their children.
