Joe G. Jimenez, Jr., passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 14, 2022, surrounded by his family at his Arizona home. He was among many of his brothers, a military veteran who served in the United States Army.
Joe is survived by his children: Joe Jimenez, Raymond Jimenez, Diana Jimenez-Scott, Adelina Jimenez, Robert Palomino, 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Joe was a simple man and accomplished everything he wanted in his 89 years of life. From the mountains of Ft. Davis, Texas, he brought genuine small-town warmth and charm to his community in central El Paso where he lived for over 60 years. After a period with Farah manufacturing company, he worked for El Paso Electric Company where he retired.
Joe was a creative, brilliant man who was always tinkering with something at home in his basement or backyard. He was a family man who extended his counsel, time, and love to his family and everyone he encountered. As a strong man of both faith and works, he encouraged his family to put God first, show love and compassion for all people, and to always help those in need. His unique humor and personality will live on in the words he spoke and the many stories he shared with his family.
Joe was preceded in death by his wife Estela P. Jimenez; granddaughters Mariah Jimenez and Rosie Palomino. He was ready to join Estela in “el rancho.”
Public viewing will be at Funeraria Del Angel Central; 3839 Montana Ave. on Thursday, June 2, from 4:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m., with a vigil service at 6:30 pm. Services will be at Roger Bacon Church on Friday, June 3, 2022 at 10:00am followed by the burial at 11:30am, at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery.
