Tony's upbringing unfolded in El Paso, a city he loved. Tony treasured spending time with friends and family. In addition he enjoyed sports, the outdoors, and fishing. He was an unwavering fan of UTEP, the Dallas Cowboys and the Cleveland Browns. He adored his family, considering his daughters his greatest achievement and cherishing his marriage to his wife Lourdes, alongside their beloved puppy Precious. Tony's generosity and love touched many lives that will always be remembered,
Tony was a Senior Officer for the Federal Bureau of Prisons and retired in 2017 after 28 years of service. His last duty station was La Tuna Federal Correctional Institute. He had many friends there, both retired and active duty.
Tony is survived by his wife Lourdes Henry Valenzuela, his daughters, Shaina Portillo, Courtney Valenzuela, and Heather Valenzuela Turner, his father Jesus Valenzuela, Sr., and his sister Martha Rivera. He also leaves to cherish his memory of six grandchildren, Aaron, Izaiah, Ayden, Adalyn, Brinley and Caleb.
Visitation will be held May 11, 2024 from 10:00 to 2:00 at Funeraria Del Angel Restlawn, 8817 Dyer Street, El Paso, Texas 79904. Rosary at 12 noon. A Celebration of Life will be held afterwards.
