Jesus Ruben “Chanate’ ” Navarro, 73, passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2016. He was born in El Paso, TX on July 29, 1943 to Prospero and Soledad (Hernandez) Navarro. Ruben graduated from Jefferson High School and the University of Texas at El Paso. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and retired from the Santa Fe Railroad. He enjoyed cruising in his GTO, traveling, fishing, reading, visiting with friends, listening to (Chuck Berry) and spending time with his family. He was a proud grandpa and his grandchildren were the light of his life! Ruben is survived by his wife of 50 years, Gloria Castaneda Navarro, daughters, Christine (Mike) Varner and Kathy (Marc) Sarver, grandchildren, Trey, Brent and Vanessa Varner, Bailey and Riley Sarver, and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family members. Visitation will be Sunday, September 11, 2016 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with Vigil Service at 7 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home-Central, 3839 Montana Ave, El Paso, TX 79903.

Funeral Mass will be Monday, September 12, 2016 at 11:45 a.m. at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 10000 Pheasant Rd, El Paso, TX 79924. Rite of Committal will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, TX 79906.
