Jerome Patrick Heinz, 82, of El Paso, Texas, was born in Mandan, North Dakota on June 8, 1942, and joyfully joined his Heavenly Father on November 7, 2024. Raised in Center, North Dakota, Jerome proudly served his country in the Army for three years overseas. After his honorable discharge, he pursued his passion for education at Dickinson State College, where he earned a Bachelor's in Education and met the love of his life, LaVerne. They were happily married in December 1968.
Jerome's dedication to teaching took him to Mandan, North Dakota, where he inspired countless students as a math teacher at Mandan Middle School. During the summers, he showcased his skills in construction. Jerome and LaVerne were blessed with two wonderful children, Keale Jerome and Kyna Marie.
In 1988, Jerome moved his family to El Paso, Texas, continuing his teaching career at O’Shea Middle School and Montwood High School until his retirement in 2007. His commitment to his faith was evident through his active involvement in the church and his esteemed roles as a 4th Degree Knight and Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus, both in Mandan and El Paso.
Jerome was a devoted family man who led by example, touching the lives of many with his kindness and generosity. He found joy in woodworking, gathering with friends and family, traveling with his RV group, and visiting North Dakota as often as possible. Jerome had a unique gift for making everyone around him feel like family.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, LaVerne, his children Keale (Rita) and Kyna, his grandchildren Victoria (Erick), Rhianna, Kealen, Kieren, and his great-grandchild, Oliver. Jerome is also survived by his sisters Beverly (Bruce) and Cynthia (Clifford), and many cherished nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Margaret (Schmidt) Heinz, his brothers Frank (Lenore), Gene (Ann), Ronald (Francis), Wayne (Margaret), and his sister Dorothy.
A eulogy will be held on November 20, 2024, at Funeraria del Angel Crestview, 1462 N Zaragoza Road, El Paso, TX, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Jerome's legacy of love, faith, and dedication will forever be remembered by all who knew him.
