It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jennifer Carbajal. Jennifer transitioned to eternal life with our Lord during her sleep, at the age of 40, on December 5, 2023. She left us too soon and was a beloved woman to everyone who knew her.
Jennifer Carbajal was born December 13, 1982, in El Paso, Texas, to her loving parents Jose G. Hernandez and Emma Carbajal. Jenny was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, niece, and friend to many. She was free spirited and enjoyed life to its fullest. Jenny had a contagious laughter and a beautiful smile that brighten anyone’s day. She enjoyed cooking for her family, especially for her husband and son. Her cooking was finger-licking delicious and her tacos with sauce were out of this world. Kindhearted, Jefferson, as Tía Rosa called her, loved spending time with her entire family and often checked on extensive family members. Jennifer loved making tamales with her mother-in-law, talking politics with her father-in-law, and providing them with anything they needed. Cujo, who passed, and Drago, her beloved dogs, were part of her family, and they accompanied her wherever she went. Having such a beautiful, compassionated soul, Jennifer always helped her friends and neighbors. She was a jack of all trades, from fixing her house to doing her own oil change. On her leisure time, Jennifer read extensively a variety of books, for she was an avid reader with an eloquent vocabulary and was well versed in any topic. As a caring aunt, she usually helped pick up and took care of her nieces and nephews after school and attended their extra-curriculum activities. She comforted those who came to her in need of a listening ear.
Jennifer was preceded in death by her sister, Jill Hernandez and her paternal grandparents, Maria and Raymundo Hernandez. She is survived by her beloved husband, Alex Austin, and her dear son, Kendrick Austin, her parents, Jose G. Hernandez and Emma Carbajal, her siblings: Joshua Hernandez, Joe Jr. Hernandez, Lucia Carbajal, and Gabrielle Lopez, her loving maternal grandparents, Maria del Refugio and Jesus Jose Carbajal; Jesus Lopez, her “Papa J”, her adoring in-laws, Vicky and Alejandro Austin, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who loved her dearly.
Jenny, we are profoundly saddened by your loss, but happy you will be rejoicing in the Lord’s Paradise. We will miss you dearly, the beautiful sparkle in your eyes, your authentic smile and sweet passionate disposition.
A funeral service will be held, December 13, 2023 at Funeraria Del Angel Martin Central, 3839 Montana, El Paso, Texas from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., followed by a prayer service at 6:30 PM.
