In loving memory of our dear husband, father, son, grandson, nephew and friend to many, Jason Gregory Levy, 31 passed away on March 16, 2011. He was born in Blue Island, Ilinois in 1979, joined the United States Army in 1999, stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas, R.O.B. Germany and deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom with the 1-34th Infantry Unit, and built his family in El Paso, Texas.
Cherishing his memories are his beloved wife, Amber Lynn Levy, his two beautiful daughters, Kara Marie and Alyssa Reanna Levy, his mother, Nancy Boevingloh, his two sisters, Tamary and Michelle Levy, his grandmother, Cherie O'Gorman and grandfather, James along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jason Gregory Levy was born in Blue Island, Illinois on October 21, 1979. He grew up all around Chicago, Illinois with his two sisters and very large extended family. He joined the United States Army in 1999 and served for eight years. His first assignment was at Fort Bliss, Texas and gave his support in testing the THAAD missiles. He was then stationed at the Rhine Ordinance Barracks in Germany where he supported aid efforts of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He left the Army to continue to grow his family in El Paso, Texas. In 2006, he was called back to active duty to deploy to Iraq. He was assigned to the 1-34th Infantry Unit - Go Red Bulls! He spent fourteen months boots on ground supporting the war effort. He received numerous decorations.
Jason met his wife in El Paso, Texas and got married in 2000. They had two beautiful daughters, Kara Marie (9) and Alyssa Reanna (5). His family was his number one priority. He was the greatest husband a wife could ever ask for and the most dedicated father. He created his own traditions to share with his family that will continue on in his memory for lifetimes to come.
Jason worked for the Fort Bliss Directorate of Information Management as an Information Technology Specialist. He was an absolute genius with computers and was able to work his magic for everyone on Fort Bliss from soldiers to the Commanding General! He brought his work home as his hobby and built and fixed computers for his family and friends. He passed on his artistic abilities to his daughter and also loved gardening and making life grow. He also had a wonderful gift of making everyone laugh. He was truly a beautiful person and a light to all around him which will continue to shine on as our Guardian Angel. We love you so much and you will be missed dearly!
