Jane C. Woodhouse, age 92, went home to be with the Lord July 23, 2012. Jane was born in El Paso, Texas in 1920 to the late Wilbur and Margaret Johnson. She graduated from Austin High School and after attending Texas Western College, Jane married Charles Woodhouse in 1939. World War II led them to San Francisco, California where
Charles worked and taught machine shop in the shipyards. Jane worked in the shipyard
office until 1944. Upon returning to El Paso, Charles worked for El Paso Natural Gas
Co. and Jane worked as an EPISD school secretary for 20 years. She worked at Bassett
Middle School, Putnam Elementary, and Morehead Middle School. Jane was a member
of Woodbine Chapter of Eastern Star. She was also a member of the El Paso Art
Guild, and was recognized for her beautiful paintings. During retirement, Jane was active in several Bible study groups, and she enjoyed gardening and bridge. Jane is preceded in death by her husband, Charles, and her son, Donald. She is survived by her daughter Linda Yust (Gregory), daughter-in-law Brenda Woodhouse, four beloved grandchildren: Kevin Woodhouse, Lisa Purcell, BrianYust, and Amanda Bishop, eight precious great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Jane greeted everyone with a pleasant smile and lifted the spirits of those whose lives she touched. Her life exemplified her strong Christian faith through her loving, caring, and service to others. Her family would like to express gratitude to Dr. James Gibson and the staff at Del Sol Medical Center. Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Martin Central Friday 5-8 p.m. Funeral service is Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Church of St. Clement, 810 N. Campbell St, with interment at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Church of St. Clement.
