Jane Lake Rogers, 85, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, September 8, 2013. She was a long-time resident of El Paso, Texas. She was a realtor with Holder Company and Los Robles. Jane Lake was a member of the Young Matron’s, Woman’s Club, UTEP Women’s Auxiliary, Daughters of the Republic of Texas, National Society of the Colonial Dames in the State of Texas, Sunset Heights & El Dedon Verde Garden Clubs, and was a Dame of the Magna Carta. She is preceded in death by her parents Joe Lake, Jr. and Bertie Merritt Fite Lake; brother Joe Lake III; sister, Mary Lake Arnold; aunts Maude Fite, Jane Doty, and Madalee MacLane. Jane Lake is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years William H. Rogers, daughter Jane Peyton (JP) Rogers, son Joseph Lake Rogers (Leslie), grandson, Joshua Lake Rogers, granddaughter Mariah Marie Rogers, nieces Eileen Moody (John), Sally Broaddus (John), Kay Harvey Gray (Kupper), Sassie Colquitt (JB) and nephews Charles MacLane (Sue) Will Harvey(Lauren), and Paul Broaddus (Mallory). Jane Lake is also survived by the families of the above. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Martin Funeral Home West. Burial will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 9:30 AM at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery. Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Trinity First United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Tom Garmon. Honorary Pallbearers will be the men of the Wedding Band Class : Ben Collins, Clinton McCombs, Ed Roberts, Jim Wade, Leroy Harrington, Rex Smith, Rod Davenport, Walley Scruggs and Wilson Knapp. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the organization of your choice.
