James Edward Montez, age 65, beloved son, brother and uncle, died January 17, 2018. He was born October 15, 1952 in Lake Charles, Louisiana to Meterio J. and Mary C. Montez, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Paul L. Montez and Mark E. Montez. He is survived by his siblings, Dorothy (Harry) McDade, Faith Swofford, Martin Montez, Susan Vialpando, Michol (Michael) Wright, Gabrielle Robinson, and his sister-in-law, Gloria Montez, as well as numerous nephews and nieces. James graduated from Austin High School and attended UTEP. He also served in the United States Army. He had an adventurous spirit, hopping trains across the United States and traveling extensively in Europe. Some of his greatest joys were fishing, reading and the Beatles. He was a member and lector at All Saints Catholic Church. He was a humble, silent man and devoted to his Catholic faith. James will always be loved and missed by his family and his friends. The viewing will be from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm followed by the rosary on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at All Saints Catholic Church, 1415 Dakota, El Paso, TX. The mass will be officiated by Rev. Kennon Ducre on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, 9:00 am at All Saints Catholic Church followed by burial at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery.
