All friends since grade school; David Valenzuela, Joey (Joe) LaRock, me and David.
David was a good friend. We grew up together in Anthony starting at a young age, all through grade school and then high school. We got into a lot of mischief, but never any real trouble. He would tell me stories about some of the things we did as a kid; and some I had no recollection at all. 
We lost touch after high school; I went to college and he went into the Marine Corps. We got back together again when Anthony High had a reunion in 2015. 
In 2016, David came to visit me in Las Vegas (Henderson) when he was here to see his daughter. He came often and liked to gamble some when here. One time while at his travel trailer, a pigeon befriended him and he was going to bring it back to El Paso, but (after David bought a travel cage etc.) the bird flew away. 
I have four photos of David. One is with David Valenzuela, Joey (Joe) LaRock and me at Chopes. Two are when he came to my house, and one with his pigeon friend on his head!
David was an avid contributor to Facebook and took the time to research topics before posting (not like most of us). I already miss him on Facebook.

I'll never forget your amazing stories you would tell me, Mr Dave you will always be in pur memories, thank you for the egg taquitos, with green chile and coffee you would bring me every morning and thank you for always believing in me!! 

my grandpa dave was one of the best people i got to grow up with, even tho he was the grumpy old man next door he was a very humble and kind soul, everytime my parents would go out when i was young they left me and my brother with grandpa and he would lets us play, get fat and order fast food, and he would give is money when the ice cream man came around the corner, i dont regret checking in on him everday when my parents told me to because now ill never get too see him again, i feel way better knowing he is healed and has his own place in heaven now.

Mr Dave was a tough man but one thing he could always do was make you laugh. His story’s from his days as a sales rep were guaranteed to get a smile on your face as well as fill you with knowledge! May he Rest In Paradise.
