He was born October 6, 1936 in Canton, Texas and raised there until he joined the military and served his country with honor.
He was a regional director of American Amicable Life Insurance Company and financial advisor for over 50 years. Jack enjoyed his work and had many lifelong friends associated with his business operations.
He delighted in his family and his favorite activities were golfing, gardening, wood working and the Dallas Cowboys. However his favorite thing to do was to jump into his RV and go camping or to cub scout functions with his grandson RJ... He called RJ his FAVORITE...as RJ was his ONLY grandson. Jack will be remembered as a loving, teasing devoted husband, father and grandfather that RJ called GG.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Barbara Roney Chaney; son Thomas Roney Chaney and wife Michele Ungvarsky ; son Alfred Jackie (AJ)
Chaney and wife Deborah Shipman Chaney, and his grandson Robert Howard Jackie Chaney (RJ). He is also survived by his sister, Wanda Chaney
Rushing of Canton, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews. Jack at an early age was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred Porter Chaney and Zera
Fincher Chaney. He was also preceded in death by his two brothers Buford Eugene Chaney and James Dwight Chaney. All friends are invited to a
Celebration of His Life to be held on April 24th, 2015 at 10 AM at St. Marks United Methodist Church, 5005 Love Rd., El Paso, Texas 79922 with a
procession and interment at 1PM at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Marks Church or Hospice of El Paso.
