Jack Bob King Jr., completed his journey here on Earth on July 4, 2024. Jack Bob King Jr. born on March 3, 1940, was a strong patriarch who loved his family deeply. He is survived by the love of his life, Elva Bertha King with whom he shared a very happy life for 64 years. He is also survived by his 6 children, Margie Swearingen (Bob), Irma King, Robert King (Ruth), Richard King, Patricia Gonzalez (Carlos), Lynda King and brothers Martin and Pedro King. He is also survived by his 20 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Bob led an extraordinary life and entertained children of all ages his entire lifetime. He performed as Ronald McDonald from 1974-1993 serving the West Texas region and New Mexico. He also entertained in Central America. He performed as Bob King “Magician” and “Triki” the magic clown, bringing happiness and smiles to countless children and adults. In 2002 he joined a group known as the “Senior Temptations” who lip synced and danced to the legendary songs of The Temptations. They performed at UTEP basketball games, Civic Clubs, and other venues. Throughout his career he received many accolades for his contributions to the community such as hospitals and schools. In 2019 he was recognized by the city of El Paso for “His exemplary service to the community”. In the same year, he was given the “Lifetime Achievement Award” by the Magician’s Association “In recognition for the amazement and happiness he brought to countless children”.
Bob was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Bob’s legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched, and the memories and smiles shared by those fortunate enough to have crossed his path. As we mourn the loss of Bob, let's us also celebrate the beautiful life he lived and the love he generously gave. May his spirit continue to shine brightly in our hearts, and may his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration in the days ahead.
