Ida Ruth Bilbe

Ida Ruth Mosley Bilbe passed away Sunday, July 2, 2017 at the age of 101 surrounded by her family. Born on 3/24/1916 in Vossburg, Mississippi, Ruth was raised in MIssissippi. After her mother passed away, Ida Ruth cared for her father and 3 brothers until she attended nursing school in Hattiesburg, MS. Ruth and her husband, Joe, made El Paso their home in 1946. As a registered nurse in labor and delivery at Southwestern General Hospital for 32 years, Ruth likely held, diapered, rocked and fed you if you were born in El Paso from 1946 to 1978. Ruth is survived by her son, Joe Bilbe (Cindy) and daughters Linda Leatherwood and Becky Bilbe; grandchildren Lauren Bilbe Roberts (Charles), James Bilbe (Angela) and Justin Bilbe; great grandchildren Kathan Bilbe, Kalina Bilbe, Wade Roberts and William Dorman; and nephews Al Mosley (Dorothy), Dawson Mosley (Cathy) and Matthew Mosley. Ruth was predeceased by her husband Joe; son Carlton Edward “Buddy”; son-in-law Neil Leatherwood; brothers Alfred, Leonard and Irvin Mosley; and parents Andrew Dawson Mosley and Ruthie Missoury Long Mosley. The Bilbe Family is in gratitude to Dr. Vipool Patel, Dr. David Metrikin, Dr. Oliver “Buddy” Smith, Dr. Tony Smith, Dr. Dan Roberts and all of their staffs along with the wonderful nurses and therapists at Advanced Health Care for giving Ruth quality of life and loving care. Though Ruth loved flowers, she would want a donation to be made to your favorite charity in lieu of flowers. Services will be held at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 5054 Doniphan Drive, on Friday July 14, 2017 at 6:00 PM
