Gustavo Garcia Jr.

Gustavo Garcia Jr, age 81, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, with his family lovingly by his side. He was born on January 14, 1942, in El Paso, Texas to Gustavo Garcia and Maria Luisa Santiesteban. He was a 1960 graduate of Ysleta High School. He worked as a heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) mechanic at the Fort Bliss Army Base and later became a business owner of G & G mobile home park in Socorro, Texas.

Gustavo was a joyful, energetic soul who enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his partner Cruz Bagues; his brother Ernie Garcia, his sister Cathy (Gilbert L.) Sanchez, his sons Mark (Michelle) Garcia and Randy (Maria Celia) Garcia, his granddaughters Taylor and Jacquelin, and many other family members, and caring friends.

Family, friends, and others who knew, loved and were a part of his life are invited for visitation at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 N. Carolina Dr., El Paso, Texas, from 2 p.m-9 p.m. on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, to grieve, support and remember the life of Gustavo. A funeral mass will take place at La Purisima Catholic Church, 328 S. Nevarez Rd., Socorro, Texas, from 12 p.m.-1 p.m. on Thursday, June 29, 2023. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Cemetery, 8700 Dyer St., El Paso, Texas.
