Major (Retired) Guillermo “Willie” Antonio Renteria, age 66, went to be with our Lord on April 12, 2018 in his hometown of El Paso, Texas. Guillermo was born in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico on February 10, 1952. He served as an Infantry Officer in the United States Army for 20 years (1974-1994) and also as the JROTC Senior Army Instructor at his alma mater, Thomas Jefferson High School, from 1996-2015. As the JROTC Instructor, he was extremely proud of having helped bring home 14 Superintendent Titles, 11 which were consecutive ( 1997-2007). A true Silver Fox, he was named All-Jefferson Boy (1970), Jefferson High School Outstanding Ex (2002-2003), and Jefferson High School Teacher of the Year (2003-2004).
He is survived by his wife Leonor Renteria; his children Melissa A, David (Melissa I), and Mark (Stephanie); his grandchildren Alexander, Addison, Audrey, and Aidan; his siblings Connie, Juan, Patricia, Javier, Christina, and Pedro. He was preceded in death by his parents Antonio and Consuelo Renteria, his brother Sergio, and his nephew Juanito.

Visitation will be held at Martin Funeral Home Central on April 16, from 5-9pm, Vigil begins at 7pm. Funeral mass will be at Our Lady of the Light Catholic Church (4700 Delta Dr.) on April 17 at 12pm. His final resting place will be at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
