Grace Madrid Sanchez, 72, passed away October 1st, 2024. The embodiment of her name, Grace had the kindest heart and a huge amount of love for family, friends, and strangers alike. She was the most loving mother and grandmother, and always dropped everything to care for her family. She was always eager to help those around her, and always put others before herself. Grace was a proud El Paso High Alumni and remained close with many of her fellow schoolmates throughout the years. Grace was a comforting presence, the one you could always lean on, the first person you’d call to share both joys and sorrows, and someone who was always available when you needed her.
Grace is survived by her son Derek and daughter-in-law Nicole, daughter Melissa, step-son Manuel and step-daughter-in-law Petra; sisters Martha and Maura; nephew Fred; nieces Nina and Audrey; and grandchildren Sofia, Alina, and Leo. She also leaves behind many close friends whom she considered family, and who also loved her dearly.
Visitation will be held on Monday October 28th at Martin Funeral Home West at 5 pm, followed by Rosary at 6 PM.
Funeral mass will be Tuesday October 29th at 9:30 am at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, with burial immediately after at Fort Bliss National Cemetery at 11 am.
