Grace was born April 25, 1933, in North Platte, Nebraska to William and Mary (Godden) Dean. She grew up in North Platte, graduating from North Platte High School. She met Robert W. Baker and later married on August 31, 1952. The couple attended Johnson Bible College in Johnson City, Tennessee and eventually had three children. The Bakers moved to Kansas City in 1967 where she served as the Executive Secretary for the Vice-President of Lee Company.
Grace and Bob moved to El Paso in 1978. She was employed as the Regional Secretary for the Tres Rios Area Christian Church. She loved spending time in the outdoors, riding motorcycles, spending time with church friends, and also enjoyed painting and music.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; and brothers Earl, Glenn, and Paul Dean.
Survivors include her children, Daniel (Lisa) Baker of Orlando, Florida, Marcia (Daniel) Kaye of Adams, Wisconsin; and David (Janet) Baker of Crossville, Tennessee; and her grandchildren, Kevin (Kristin) Baker, Keith (Marsha) Baker, Austen (Ryan) Popejoy, and Robert (Brenda) Popejoy; and three great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Jason, and Andrew.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 12 at Bethany Christian Church, 10453 Springwood in El Paso. Inurnment will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Evergreen East Cemetery, 12400 Montana Ave.
