By profession, Gordon was a salesman. He retired from J.A. Sexauer in 2012. He sold plumbing equipment and supplies to hospitals, school districts and many hotel chains. He was very knowledgeable in his field and because of his “gift of gab” and his good humored personality, selling was easy. Prior to retiring from J.A. Sexauer he had a career in sales in the food brokerage industry. He was also very successful in his endeavors in the food brokerage business as well. Gordon loved to have a good time whether it was enjoying outdoor activities such as playing golf or hanging out at the casino. He was a skillful gambler and could keep up with the best of them. Because he loved being outdoors, he spent many years on the links. Gordon was an exceptional golfer and triumphed in many
tournaments he participated in. Gordon loved to travel. Whether it was just a quick road trip for fun, traveling for work, or taking luxurious trips with his wife Irma, Gordon always made every get away a great time. He and his wife Irma took many cruises together. Some of their most memorable trips were to Maui, Jamaica, and Puerto Rico just to name a few. There were many more, but these were the ones Gordon often reminisced about. Everyone was a friend to Gordon. He could meet someone for the first time, and it was as if he had known them his entire life. His personality, quick wit, and clever observations of life always left those around him consumed with laughter. Gordon had excellent taste in music. He especially loved country music and shared his knowledge and appreciation for country music with friends and family. Many afternoons were spent in the backyard surrounded by loved ones listening to his favorite music. He loved to share stories about his experiences growing up, as well as a few tall tales that never failed to amuse whomever he was sharing them with. Gordon was a passionate soul with an even more passionate heart. He loved his family unconditionally and immeasurably. Gordon loved his fur babies Willow, Scout, and Maya just the same. Gordon will be missed on so many levels. He will be missed as a husband, as a father, as a father-in-law, as a brother-in-law, as a grandfather, as an uncle, and as a friend. And although he is no longer with us physically, he will always live forever in our hearts.
I will hold you in my heart until I can hold you again in heaven.
