Gloria Montoya

GLORIA VALLES MONTOYA, age 85 of El Paso, TX, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, December 31, 2019. She was born in Las Cruces, NM to Francisco Valles and Margarita “Maggie” Emilio Benegas on May 21, 1934. She grew up in Las Cruces and graduated from Las Cruces Union High School. She worked as a dental assistant where she met her husband Noah. Upon her marriage to Noah, she moved to El Paso, TX and remained there until her death. She worked briefly at Dowell Elementary School as a cafeteria worker. She enjoyed sewing, painting ceramics and doing needle point especially of southwestern things. She mostly was a devoted and loving wife and mother especially to her autistic son, Michael. She will be forever remembered for her gentle spirit and kind heart.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and her husband Noah E Montoya of 56 years and brother Ernesto F. Valles. She is survived by her daughter, Elaine Monteon and husband Victor of El Paso and sons, Edward & Michael Montoya of El Paso, TX, and her sister, Hortencia Butler and husband Joe Fred of Las Cruces, NM as well as numerous nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be held, January 16, 2019, from 5 – 7PM, followed by Rosary @ 7PM at Funeraria Del Angel, 8817 Dyer Street, El Paso, TX 79924. Funeral Mass will be held, January 17, 2019, 10AM at Blessed Sacrament Church, 9025 Diana Drive, El Paso, TX 79924. Immediately following the mass @ 11AM, she will be laid to rest at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Rd, El Paso, TX 79906. Reception will be held from 12PM – 4PM at QD’s Place Party Hall, 5240 Rushing Rd, El Paso, TX 79924. Arrangements are with Funeraria Del Angel Funeral Home, 8817 Dyer Street, El Paso, TX 79904.
