Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Gloria Inez (Hernando) Juarez was called home to be with our Lord on Saturday, March 18, 2023. Gloria was born on January 21, 1940. She was a 1958 graduate of Loretto Academy and a life-long resident of El Paso, Texas.
Gloria is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Colonel (ret) Luis A. Juarez USMC; two children, Joanna (Juarez) and Gerald Urban Arbach; Jennifer (Juarez) and Mark Merrill; four grandsons, Joshua and Shelly (Losey) Juarez; Jason Richard and Alisha (Gosnell) Williams; Patrick Casey; Tristan Merrill; one granddaughter Anelise Merrill and one great-granddaughter, Penelope Jean-Inez Juarez: two sisters-in-law, Carolina (Juarez) and Ronald Kendall; Dolores (Juarez) and Jack Montague; and two brothers-in-law Roberto Juarez; and Jose Martinez.
She is also survived by one brother, Jose Fernando Hernando Sr.; three sisters, Socorro (Hernando) Uribe; Nena (Hernando) and Manny Loera; Bertha (Hernando) Hughes, Nephew, Antonio and Barry (Uribe Jr.) Forbes; Nieces, Estella (Morales) Ayala; Rebecca (Rodriguez) and David Calderon; Patricia (Rodriguez) Martinez; and numerous other nephews and nieces.
She is preceded in death by her beloved parents Rafael and Beatriz (Murillo) Hernando; three brothers Rafael Jr and Ramona (Morales) Hernando; Ernesto and Elisa (Fernandez) Hernando; Rodolpho Hernando; four sisters, Lydia (Hernando) and Canuto B. Morales; Consuelo (Hernando) and Rodolfo Romero Sr.; Esperanza (Hernando) and Charles Rodriguez; Martha (Hernando) Martinez.
Visitation will be held from 4:00pm-8:00pm with a vigil at 6:00pm at Hillcrest Funeral Home- 1060 N. Carolina Dr. El Paso, TX 79915 on Tues March 28, 2023. Church Services will be held at 11:30am on Wed March 29,2023 at St. Stephen Deacon & Martyr Church followed by burial at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery at 1:00pm.
