ARANDA Gloria C. Aranda, 71, our beloved mother and mentor passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. She was a life-long resident of El Paso. She was a proud graduate of Bowie High School and obtained her Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies with honors from the University of Texas at El Paso in May 1992. She taught for 18 years at Alta Vista Elementary School and had recently retired. Teaching was her passion and she touched and inspired many young minds. She was preceded in death by her son Joey, husband Jose, her parents and brother, Arturo. She is survived by her daughters, Cecilia Aranda, Cindy Myers (Carl), and Christina Dominguez. She was blessed with three beautiful grandchildren: Isaac, Wesley and Liam, in addition to many nieces, nephews, cousins and brothers and sisters-in-law. She was deeply loved by many friends. The family would like to thank her outstanding doctors and the staff at Sierra especially the ER, Oncology, CCU, and Telemetry units. We would like to acknowledge the exceptional care provided by Dr. Luis Gomez, Dr. Raul Portillo, Dr. Carmela Morales and Dr. Adrian Ugarte. Our gratitude also goes out to the caring members of El Paso Prime Home Health. Visitation will be held from 8:00 - 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Del Angel Martin Central, 3839 Montana with a rosary beginning at 9:30 a.m. A funeral Mass will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1315 Travis at 10:30 a.m. Splendour in the Grass William Wordsworth What though the radiance which was once so bright Be now for ever taken from my sight, Though nothing can bring back the hour of splendour in the grass, Of glory in the flower, We will grieve not, rather find strength in what remains behind; In the primal sympathy which having been must ever be; In the soothing thoughts that spring Out of human suffering: In the faith that looks through death, In years that bring the philosophic mind.
