Gilbert Holguin

Gilbert (Gil) Holguin, 64, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2023. He was a graduate of Austin HS (1977), loved and cared for his “carwash” community and was a die-hard Raider Fan. Known to his family as “Funcle”. Gil was a tenderhearted man whose jokes, smile and hugs will be missed by all who knew him. He was one of a kind. Preceded in death by his parents Cristobal and Bertha M. Holguin. Survived by his sisters Grace Marrufo (Jesus), Delia Martinez (Mario), niece Angelica Monarez (daughters: Eliana and Analia), nephews Carlos (Juliana), and Xavier Marrufo, Angel and Adrian Martinez. Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 from 5:00-9:00 PM with a rosary at 6:30 PM at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 N. Carolina Dr. Funeral mass Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at 9:30 AM at San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church, 503 Hunter Dr. Interment to follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, 401 S. Zaragoza Rd.
