Georgina "Chata" Rivera

May 28, 1980 – December 13, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Georgina Cervantes Rivera, lovingly known as “Chata.” Born on May 28, 1980, she brought light and warmth to everyone around her. Georgina leaves behind her devoted husband, Eddie Rivera; her two beloved children, Josiah Rivera and Gianna Rivera; her parents, Juan Cervantes and Maria Teresa Cervantes; and her brothers, Eduardo Cervantes and Ismael Cervantes.

Georgina dedicated her life to helping others as an occupational therapist, focusing her time and talents on supporting children in their growth and development. Her kindness, compassion, and unwavering commitment to her work touched the lives of countless families and made a lasting impact.

Despite her medical history, Georgina was a fighter, demonstrating remarkable resilience and strength throughout her life. She faced every challenge with courage, grace, and a steadfast faith in God, inspiring everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Georgina had the biggest smile and the most contagious laugh. Her soft voice, gentle spirit, and the enormous love in her heart made her truly one of a kind. She was the most selfless person, always putting others before herself with kindness and grace.

Being a mother was her greatest joy. Georgina loved her children with all her might, dedicating herself to their happiness and dreams. She was courageous and resilient, always finding strength in her love for family and friends. She believed deeply in the power and presence of God, drawing comfort and guidance from her faith in every part of her life.

Her love and laughter will echo through our lives forever. Let us honor her memory by living with the same grace, kindness, and joy she exemplified every day.

A visitation for Chata will be held Thursday, December 26, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 North Carolina Drive, El Paso, TX 79915. A rosary will occur Thursday, December 26, 2024 at 6:00 PM, 1060 North Carolina Drive, El Paso, TX 79915. A funeral mass will occur Friday, December 27, 2024 at 9:15 AM at San Antonio De Padua Catholic Church, 503 Hunter Dr, El Paso, Texas 79915. A graveside service will occur Friday, December 27, 2024 at 10:45 AM at Mount Carmel Cemetery, 401 S Zaragoza Rd, El Paso, Texas 79907.
