She graduated from Ysleta High School (80) and attended UTEP. She was a dispatcher for “911” and the El Paso Electric Co.
She was a volunteer for the Sun Bowl Assoc., Sun Bowl Parade, and was a Sun Bowl Band Host for many years. She also volunteered with “Rebuilding Together” Program sponsored by the El Paso Electric Co.
She was preceded in death by father-Samuel H. Cruz, daughter-Petra Melendez, and her Godson/Nephew Samuel G. Salazar.
Survived by her son: Bill Paul Cruz, Mother: Manuela G. Cruz, sisters: Maria Ofelia Cruz Salazar (Edward), Eileen Cruz Escamilla (Robert Sr.), nephew-Robert Escamilla Jr., niece Melodie Escamilla, numerous aunts and cousins.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Vigil at 6:00 pm at Hillcrest Funeral Home East.
Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Our Lady of The Valley Catholic Church, 8600 Winchester with a Graveside Service to follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
