Frank Hamilton was an amazing man. During his lifetime he was many things; an Eagle Scout, a spelunker, a coworker, a mentor, a medical technologist, a systems analyst, a brother, husband, father and grandfather. Frank had a passion for many things; among them, bowling, golfing, geology, metal detecting and most of all, finding a good deal.
Frank was a talented woodworker and he had the unique ability to fix almost every broken thing that came across his path.
He was a man who believed in hard work and always had some type of job from the time he was a young man, whether it was delivering newspapers or making pizza, until he settled on his career in the medical field. As a medical technologist, he first worked at Tigua General Hospital and Southwestern Hospital until coming to UMC (then known as R.E. Thomason General Hospital), where he worked for 45 years until his death.
Frank is predeceased by his parents, Frank and Jean and his beloved brother Tom. Left to carry on in his memory are his wife of 46 years, Penny, son Shane, granddaughter Brynn, great grandsons Abel and Christopher, brothers John (Nancy) and Brian (Cathy), and his 4 dogs: BoBo, Bella, Chico and Willie.
A celebration of life will take place on Tuesday, August 27th from 5 to 7 p.m. at Funeraria del Angel Central. In lieu of flowers, please donate to any organization supporting our veterans or any charity of your choice.
