Francisco Montoya

Francisco Montoya (June 26, 1962-February 1, 2024) was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was the son of Pablo Montoya and Consuelo Gonzalez, youngest brother to Manuela Montoya, Jose Montoya and Gabino Montoya. On June 6, 1983, Francisco married the love of his life Maria Escobedo. Four years later, they grew their family with a beautiful baby girl, Hazel Montoya. Four years after, they had another blessing, it was a baby boy, Francisco O. Montoya.February 1st of 2013 Francisco was diagnosed with liver disease and the prognosis was not good. Just when he was about to give up, God blessed him with a second chance at life. On August 17, 2014, he received a liver transplant. Francisco was living his best life enjoying grandkids and traveling when he could. Unfortunately, on October of 2021 he was diagnosed again with liver cancer. He fought for two years like a trooper, never giving up; it didn’t matter the bad news or circumstances. He loved life and knew God would be with him through this journey. On February 1, 2024, God took him in His loving arms and all that pain and suffering was gone. Francisco is survived by his wife Paty Montoya; daughter, Hazel Montoya; son, Francisco Montoya; grandkids, Isaiah Hernandez, Lyzel Flores, and Pablo Montoya; siblings, Manuela Montoya and Jose Montoya. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 7, 2024 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. with a service at 7 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Evergreen East. Interment will be Thursday, February 8, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery East.
