Francisco “Kiko” H. Medina age 91, of La Union, NM left his dwelling place on earth and entered eternal life to be with his Heavenly Father, Wednesday, May 19, 2021. He was born on May 22,1929 in La Mesa, NM to Felipe and Leonides Medina. Mr. Medina spent over 25 years working in El Paso Tx at Fort Bliss for Civil Service until his retirement in 1994. He was a Eucharistic Minister for Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church in La Union. Mr. Medina was also a veteran of the Korean War where he enlisted on September 8, 1952 and reached the rank of Corporal.
Survivors include his three sons, Freddy L. Medina, Frank L. Medina and Phillip L. Medina all of La Union as well as his sister Rosa Monks of Las Cruces, NM. Other survivors include daughters-in-law, Naomi Medina, Irma Lazarin and Martha Medina; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren, Yvette Lazarin, Viola Ramos, Federico Median Jr., Jake Medina, Justine Medina, Valerie Medina, RJ Ramos, Rylan J Medina, Rayden Ramos, Raelynn Medina and Jax Medina. He is proceeded in death by his loving wife Guillermina Medina, his son Ronnie Medina, his grandson Raul Chacon, his parents Felipe and Leonides Medina, his sisters Esther Viramontes, Lita Valles, Petra Delgado, Lupe Ramos, Maria Luisa Cordero and his only brother Carlos Medina.
Visitation for Mr. Medina will begin at 5 PM Tuesday, June 1, 2021 in Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church in La Union where the prayer vigil is scheduled to begin at 7 PM. The funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 10 AM Wednesday, June 2, 2021 in the same church. Rite of Committal and Internment will follow at the La Union Cemetery where he will be laid to rest.
Serving as casket bearers will be Eric Medina, Jake Medina, Roman Ramos, Noe Ruiz, Richard Ramos and Juan Arroyos. Honorary casket bearer, Facundo Ruiz senior.
