Francisco “Frank” Marquez, Jr. born on February 19, 1941, was called to his eternal home on June 14, 2015 at the age of 74. He was a 4th degree Knight of Columbus and an active member of Cristo Rey Catholic Church. He was a graduate of Ysleta HS. He worked for the Bureau of Reclamation and retired from EPCWID #1 after 46 years. Frank was preceded in death by his parents Francisco and Cruz Marquez and nephew Joey Hernandez. He is survived by the love of his life for 49 years, his wife, Iris Marquez, his children Eddie (Bea) Marquez, Susie (Joe) Viramontes and Trish Marquez; his pride and joy, his grandchildren Christopher, Devin, Mark and Nevay; brothers Raul and Robert Marquez, sisters; Ofelia (Loni) Hernandez, Maria Luisa Parra, Irene (Mike) Maldonado. Frank was the most loving and giving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He cared deeply for his entire family. His quiet and gentle nature made everyone he came into contact with laugh, with his quick wit and contagious smile. He was a sincere man of integrity and faith, who personified every quality that any man could ever hope to aspire to be. He always sang or whistled his way through every day and his beautiful voice echoed through the home he built with his wife, his songs will be dearly missed. As will his passionate love of baseball that he shared with his brother and children. There is nothing that will be able to replace the void that will be left by his passing but the examples and lessons he left behind will last a lifetime. Please join the family as we celebrate his life on Friday, June 19, 2015 with visitation from 5-9pm with recitation of the rosary at 7:00pm, funeral mass Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 9:00am. All services will be held at Cristo Rey Catholic Church. Burial at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Reception following at 8011 Williamette.
