Francisco Armendariz Jr., also known as Juni, Kiko, Frank, Bonito, Chicharo & Negro (by his mom) age 83, of El Paso, Texas passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2021. Francisco was born February 20, 1938 to Dominga and Francisco Armendariz.
Francisco served in the United States Navy from 1955 to 1959. He worked at Phelps Dodge Copper Refinery for 40 years, and retired in 1999. He also played softball with his fellow work buddies, even though the names of the teams would change in the years. Francisco loved sports, he enjoyed watching baseball and followed his two favorite teams, the New York Yankees and Texas Rangers. He also followed football and rooting for the Dallas Cowboys on Sundays and College Football Teams on Saturdays.
Francisco is survived by his spouse of 63 years, Maria Nana Armendariz; son Angel Armendariz (Yvonne Armendariz); daughter Leticia Armendariz; son John Armendariz; and daughter-in- law Petra Armendariz; sisters Eva Ramirez, Amelia Ochoa, Irene Bryant, Lucy Galindo, Maggie Morales and Martha Castillo; brothers Alfredo Armendariz, Richard Armendariz and Fred Armendariz. He also leaves behind five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, extended family, friends and his beloved dog Rosie to cherish his memory.
Francisco was preceded in death by son Frank Armendariz IV; father Francisco Armendariz and mother Dominga Armendariz; brother Manuel Armendariz.
Visitation for Francisco will be held Tuesday, July 27, 2021 from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Funeraria del Angel Central, 3839 Montana Avenue, El Paso, Texas 79903. THE FAMILY IS REQUESTING ALL VISITORS TO WEAR MASKS AT THE VISITATION. Mass will follow at San Antonio De Padua at 12:00 PM, 503 Hunter Drive, El Paso, Texas 79915. Committal Service at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery at 1:30 PM, 5200 Fred Wilson Avenue, El Paso, Texas 79906.
