Francine Izzo Stokes, 72, of El Paso, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on February 13, 2023. Fran was born on July 1, 1950 in Rockville Centre, NY to Thomas Joseph Izzo and Phyllis Seifts Izzo. Fran lived in Hicksville, NY until July 1966 when her family relocated to Las Cruces, NM. There she met her husband, Jerry Lee Stokes, and graduated from Mayfield High School in 1968. They were married on May 10, 1969 and moved to El Paso in 1973 where they’ve resided every since.
Fran held various jobs in accounting management and merchandising but her favorite and most loved job was mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren were the light of her world.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sister Pamela Jane Izzo. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jerry Lee Stokes, daughter Stacey (Greg) McChesney, grandson Bryson James (9), granddaughter Charlee Madison (6), brothers Tom (Jeannie) and Peter Izzo of Las Cruces, brother James Izzo of Bridgeport, WV, and sister Jayne (Bryan) Medelin of Santa Fe, TX. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, 2 great nieces and one great nephew.
The family encourages memorials to be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN).
