She worked as a librarian at Clarity Fox and El Paso Public Library before becoming a secretary and senior clerk at Aoy Elementary School. She attended First Mexican Baptist Church and enjoyed helping as a Sunday school teacher and choir member, and in her later years, joined Del Sol Baptist Church. Her faithfulness to God never wavered, and like Proverbs 31:29 says, ‘Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.’
She is survived by daughters Priscilla V. Burgess, Patricia V. Fikes, son Ignacio R. Vazquez, Jr.;
step-brother Armando Macias; grandchildren Eric T. Burgess, Davin M. Burgess, Emily C. Burgess, Brittany D. Shoemake, Ignacio I. Vazquez, Travis U. Fikes, and Tyler G. Fikes; and great-grandchildren Brody Burgess, Mary Frances Burgess, Ezekiel Shoemake, Ariana Shoemake, Malachi Shoemake, Aurora Vasquez, Roman Fikes, and Vera Fikes.
Pallbearers will be Rick K. Fikes, Eric T. Burgess, Davin M. Burgess, Ignacio I. Vasquez, Travis
U. Fikes, Tyler G. Fikes, and James Shoemake.
Visitation will be Monday October 7, 2024 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Central.
