She was a lifelong resident of El Paso, Texas. She always wanted to live in Hawaii and did live on one of the islands for one year, where she worked as a classroom teacher. The passing of our mother brought her back to El Paso where she was immediately employed as an elementary classroom teacher for the El Paso Independent School District. She retired on July 1, 1993 after 22 years of service to careprovide for our father.
She loved to travel and could very well have been considered a world traveler.
She is survived by her youngest brother, Raul Muñiz of San Mateo, California. In addition, she is survived by niece, Karina Maria Muñiz and Norma Alvarado, nephew Max Muñiz, nieces Cynthia DeSoto, Yvette Muñiz, nephew Daniel Fernando Muñiz, niece Patty Klapp and several great-nieces and nephews.
She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
A Rosary service for Evelina will be held Friday, October 12, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Saint Matthew Catholic Church, 400 West Sunset, El Paso, TX 79912, followed by a Funeral Mass from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM. Services entrusted to Martin Funeral Home West.
