Esther Yolanda Casillas died peacefully at her home surrounded by her children after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Born May 3, 1943 to Pomposo and Maria de la Luz Almada of Basuchil, Chihuahua, Yolanda was a vibrant and loving person. She was a real estate agent and broker and had a passion for business. Yolanda was a warm and generous hostess celebrating the big and small in her special way. She enjoyed sharing her table with family, friends, international exchange students and all those fortunate enough to celebrate with her. She shared her love of travel with her children and family and always looked forward to her weekly card games with her cousins and best friends. The beach was one of her favorite places and her home in Ruidoso was a treasure. She was a wonderful dancer and singer and her final moments were spent in music and prayer. She will be greatly missed!
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Luis Casillas, parents, Maria de la Luz and Pomposo Almada, sisters, Aurora Almada Hernandez and Maria Almada Rascon. She is survived by her children, Luz Fabiola (Richard), Angelica (Billy), Georgina (Glenn), Louie (Shirley), Claudia (Marina) and stepson Andre (Isadora), grandchildren, Jessica, Angelica (Jaime), Antonia Marie, Silverio, Christopher, Meagan, Catalina, Annalinna, Caremla, Giuseppe, great grandchildren Justin, Aiden, Trent and Jaise and step grandchildren Sean, Christian and Fallon. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Luz Estela (Javier), Pomposo (Blanca), Elias (Maria), Josue (Lala), Francisco (Yolanda) and Jesus (Teresa) and numerous friends and family who will miss her dearly
Visitation will be Sunday, October 1, 2107 from 5:00 -9:00pm with rosary at 7:00pm at Martin Funeral Home Central. Funeral Mass will be Monday, October 2, 2017 at 9:00am at Holy Family Church, 104 Fewell. Burial to follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery.
