Our hearts are broken to announce the passing of our patriarch, Enrique ‘Henry’ Ramos. Enrique is the son of Roman and Juana Ramos who preceded him in death. He is the eldest brother to 15 brothers and sisters, husband of 51 years to his beloved wife Linda, father to 6 beautiful daughters – Patricia, Beatriz (Arturo), Kelly (Josh), Veronica (Casey), Victoria (Bernie), Elizabeth (Tim), and grandfather to 8 grandkids – Anjelica Pink, Mireya, Nayeli, Alexa, Dakota, Ciera, Brooks, Bella and 2 great grandkids – Storm and Elizabeth.
Enrique spent his early years growing up in the area of La Mesa, New Mexico attending Gadsden High School where he was an outstanding student and athlete – lettering in football. After graduation, he moved to El Paso, Texas where he chose the path to be in the service of others by dedicating 22 years to the City of El Paso as a devoted Police Officer and proud member of the El Paso Police Department. Post retirement, he dedicated another number of years to the County Court System as a Bailiff, then went on to the Federal Courthouse as a Court Security Officer until he fully retired to enjoy his golden years with his wife, children and grandchildren.
During his time in El Paso, he met and fell in love with Linda and eventually married. They built a fantastic life together raising their daughters in the foundation of strength, love, loyalty, service to others and spunk. Enrique never shied away from hard work or helping others in need. He was always active in a project and often, would take to learning something new to keep him busy.
Anyone who was fortunate enough to have Enrique as a friend, colleague, neighbor, or was able to associate with him for any length of time understood what an amazing person he was. Enrique was a devoted husband and father who would fiercely protect his loved ones at all cost. Coming from a large family, he instilled the importance of staying close to one another – leading by example by having strong relationships and remaining close to his siblings. His tenacity and zest for life was contagious – bringing laughter and joy to the many lives he touched.
Our hearts ache, our tears flow and our lives forever changed as we say goodbye to this man who we all know by a different name – husband, father, father-in-law, grandpa, or friend. As a family, we find strength in one another, leaning on each other as we grieve. We love you endlessly Enrique, and cherish the time we had with you creating the countless memories we will rely on moving forward.
