Emma M. Rios

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Emma Maria (Martinez) Rios, 85. She was called to be with our Lord from her home on April 21, 2015. Born in Deming, New Mexico she was proud to be a lifelong resident of El Paso and a graduate of El Paso High School. Emma was preceded in death by her parents, Loreto and Delfina Martinez ; brother Sam Martinez; sisters Teddy Gonzalez and Maggie Nunez. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Rogelio Rios; her daughter Veronica Rios; son Roger Rios; grandchildren Andrea and Brianna Rios; sister Alice del Hierro; brother Willie Martinez. Especially close nieces and nephews include; Irene Vargas, Raymond Gonzalez, Laura Bolanos and Melissa Foster. Emma proudly retired from the El Paso Electric Company after 18 years of faithful service. Her cheerful, loving and helpful spirit will be sorely missed. She was focused on both sides of her family including many loving cunados, cunadas, nieces and nephews, too many to name. Known for her homemade biscochos and delicious chile, she loved tending to her pink geraniums and attending mass at Guadalupe Catholic Church. You can now rest in peace, Mom, and enjoy your relatives and friends in Heaven. Visitation will be held at Martin Funeral Home Central, 3839 Montana, on Sunday, April 26, 2015 from 5PM - 9 PM with the rosary service at 7PM. Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, April 27, 2015 at 10 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church followed by interment at Fort Bliss National Cemetery at 11 AM.
