Our beloved mother, grandmother, and aunt, Emma Lara Cordova, passed away on Sunday, October 6th, at the beautiful age of 90 years old. She was greeted in heaven by her parents, brothers, and husband of 55 years, Guillermo A. Cordova. She is survived by her daughters, Patricia C. Carrillo and Sandra A. Hernandez; her grandchildren, Rodrigo Noel Carrillo, Joseph Robert Carrillo, Christopher Brian Hernandez, and Adrea Lauren Hernandez; and sisters, Carmen Lara and Susie L. Axe. She worked for the City of El Paso and for the Veterans County Service Office from 1958 to 1987. She also served as District President of the VFW’s Ladies Auxiliary, and enjoyed being an active member of San Xavier Church’s Silver Leaf Club. After retiring she enjoyed her free time by traveling, camping, sewing quilts, making her famous salsa, and spending time with her grandchildren. She will always live in the hearts and thoughts of all those that she touched throughout her lifetime. Pallbearers will be Emma’s grandsons and Bobby Herrera, Frank Perez, and Ron Hernandez. Rosary will be held at 6:30pm on Wednesday, October 9th at Martin Funeral Home at 3839 Montana Ave., and Mass will be held at 1:15pm on Friday, October 10th at Our Lady of Assumption at 4800 Byron St
