Elisa “Licha” V. Quintana, 98, passed away on September 10, 2017, surrounded by family members. Elisa was born on June 14, 1919 in El Paso, Texas to Bernardo Valenzuela and Benita Tarango. Licha was preceded in death by her parents, her son Jose (Pepe) Silva and six siblings. Licha was an amazing, strong and independent woman. A fighter till the end. She wanted to go home her final days while in the hospital. Her wish was granted and she passed away quietly and content in her own home. Licha is survived by daughters Rosa Silva Masilang and MaElena Noriega and son Frank Silva and long-time companion Isaac Medrano. In addition, there are numerous (too many to name) grandchildren and great grandchildren, all of them lovable and caring and adored by great Grandma Licha. Visitation will be held Sunday, September 17th from 5 pm to 9 pm at Martin Funeral Home Central, 3839 Montana Avenue with Vigil at 7 pm. Funeral Mass will be held Monday, September 18th at 10 am at Guardian Angel Catholic Church, 3021 Frutas Avenue. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery on Alameda.
