The Master has called one of His own home. Doris Jean Mullins Walker passed away December 5, 2013 at the age of 68. Doris was born in Pickens County (Gordo), Alabama on July 16, 1945 and was a member of New Hope (First) Church of God, El Paso since 1978. She served as Director for the Sonshine Day Care Center from January 1985 to December 2005. As Director and teacher, Doris truly shaped the lives of children placed in her care and helped put them on a path of success. Doris is preceded in death by her parents, Beulah Mae and Herman Mullins; sisters: Sarah Ruth Spencer and Nazaree Richardson; brothers: Harvey Mullins, James Harold Mullins and Bruce Mullins. Those who miss the warmth of her love and strength, yet who are rejoicing in the life she lived are: husband James of 44 years; children: Jerry, Sonya, and Tonya Walker; grandchildren: Ashanti and Imani Walker; great grandchild: Aiden Walker; sisters: Annie Lois Palmer, Edna Roberson and Willow Dean Mullins, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. A host of nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 11, 2013 from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. and the Funeral Service to be held Thursday, December 12, 2013 at 12:00 P.M. at Martin Funeral Home Central at 3839 Montana Ave. Burial to be at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery following the service.
