Dora De La Rosa, 89, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother went to be with our Lord, Jesus Christ, on September 12, 2013. She was born in Las Cruces, NM and was long time resident of El Paso. During World War II, she worked as a volunteer caring for wounded soldiers. She will be greatly missed and remembered for her happy spirit, generosity, kindness, love of life, and total dedication to her family. She was a wonderful wife, loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved cooking for her family and friends. She also loved plants, humming birds and celebrating holidays with family. Her favorite hobbies included ceramics, knitting, making dolls for her grandchildren. She enjoyed watching General Hospital, telenovelas, Caso Cerrado and liked traveling and fishing. She is survived by her loving husband of over sixty years, Macedonio De La Rosa Jr., three children, Cleo Massis, Dora Alvarado (Fernando), and Sonny De La Rosa (Pat), eight grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren, sisters, Mary Lou DeLuze and Alicia Miller, brother, Javier Arreola and numerous nephews and nieces. Family would like to thank all for their support and prayers during this time of sorrow. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, September 19th with a Vigil at 7:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Martin Central Chapel. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 20th at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery.
