It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Donna Lee Torres on March 13, 2024. Born on July 4, 1958, Donna was a beacon of light and love to all who knew her. Her charm, charisma, and big-hearted nature were evident in every aspect of her life.
Donna is survived by her loving children Leigh Ann Torres, Juliana Torres, Andrew Torres, and Ismael Burciaga. She is also survived by her precious granddaughters, Jasmine Rodriguez and Nakita Torres. and her sister, Karla Morrissette. Donna was predeceased by her beloved husband, Julian Torres, her father, Everett Erwin, and her mother Alberta Erwin.
Donna's love of life and people was reflected in her tastes and interests. She enjoyed a good taco, relished a cup of coffee, and danced to the rhythm of Jazz, Oldies, and Freestyle music. Donna found enjoyment in detective or medical series and her all-time favorite film, 'Gone with the Wind' while watching with her son Andy. A loyal fan of the Cowboys, Donna also loved watching TV and attending family parties. She had a fondness for the color black and red, symbolizing her strength and passion for life.
Donna’s journey was not always an easy one, but she faced every hurdle with grace. Among her greatest accomplishments was the triumph over addiction and regaining her true personality and dignity; plus fighting a long battle against cancer in her own way—a testament to her strength, resilience, and will. Her unconditional love and non-discriminatory care for all people and animals are part of the impactful legacy she leaves behind. She also leaves behind her glorious smile, seen in all her children.
Our beloved Donna loved her family in the best ways she knew how. She impacted every one of her family and friends in ways unknown to each other but greatly appreciated by each individual. Her life was a testament to her belief in loving unconditionally and her legacy will continue to inspire us to care for people of all kinds.
A viewing for Donna will be held on March 18, 2024 at 12:00 PM at Funeraria del Angel Restlawn, 8817 Dyer, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM. A reception will be held at 3:30 PM at the same location.
In remembering Donna, we celebrate not only her life but the love and joy she brought to our lives. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
