David is survived by companion Irene De Avila, sons David (Joanie), and Michael (Claudia), daughters Bernadette, Catherine and 6 grandchildren, siblings, Emilio, Filbert, Ted, James, Beatrice, Gloria, Cristina, Martha from California and Felipa Villa from El Paso. Prior to moving to El Paso and starting his own business, David served in the Peace Corp, worked for the State of California and Rapid Transit System. David was an avid reader, writer, and collector of books of all genres. He enjoyed dancing to oldies and goodies, singing and fishing. He was very talented and creative and made a profession of creating authentic Native American Arts and Crafts and specialized in jewelry. His knowledge of the Native American culture astonished many a listener. David was surrounded by music growing up. He and his brothers formed a band in their teen years and he was inspired to write songs and poems. His smile and humor were contagious and his appreciation and respect for life reflected his character. He believed that we are all are going to a better place after our life here on earth. David will be dearly missed by all his families and friends in California and El Paso. Visitation will be Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm with Memorial Service at 2:00 pm at Crestview Funeral Home, 1462 N. Zaragoza Rd, El Paso, TX 79936
