David Martinez

Our beloved father David Martinez passed away peacefully on May 24, 2014. He was born in El Paso, Texas on November 11, 1918. He proudly served as a medic with the 1st Armored Division in North Africa and Italy during WWII. He is preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Eliza Martinez and survived by son David Martinez, Jr. (Mary) and daughter Norma Martinez. He is also survived by his granddaughters Malissa Murga, Victoria Myers, and Susanna Kirkland; great-grandchildren Miranda, Andrew, Mark, Ryan, Avery, and Elizabeth. Our family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all of Dad’s wonderful caregivers. Visitation will be held 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday, June 1, 2014 with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home-Carolina. Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, June 2, 2014 at Santo Nino de Atocha Catholic Church. Interment will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
