David Gomez, 44, beloved son, brother, husband, father, uncle, and friend passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 16. A life-long resident of El Paso, David was a proud graduate of Austin High School and the University of Texas at El Paso and served his country as a Border Patrol Agent for over 20 years. David was a devoted father and husband who dedicated himself to his wife and three children. A doting father, he expressed his passion for his children and sports as a volunteer coach and mentor. David’s zest for life, kindness, and sense of humor brought joy and inspiration to those fortunate enough to have known him, including his family, coworkers and the cycling community that he so loved. David’s warm, inviting smile drew people to him, and his generous nature was known by many. He will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife Celina; daughters, Daniela and Natalia, and son Jacob, parents Guillermo and Ofelia Gomez; and brothers Guillermo Jr (Cecilia), and Daniel, and a large extended family.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 18th at Martin Funeral Home (3839 Montana) from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM with Rosary beginning at 7:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Raphael Catholic Church on Saturday, November 19th at 11:00 AM. Rite of Committal will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
