Daniel Carreon, a devout Catholic, devoted father, dedicated and doting grandfather, passed away Saturday February 4, 2017 at the age of 82. Born July 21, 1934 to Benito and Francisca Carreon, Daniel was a lifelong resident of El Paso. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Gloria M. Carreon, son Benito Daniel Carreon, and daughter Francesca Angelica Carreon. Daniel is survived by sons Melchor D. Carreon (Elizabeth), Antimo D. Carreon (Frankie), Noe D. Carreon (Lorraine), daughter Regina M. Medrano (Albert), eleven grandchildren, four sisters, and numerous nephews and nieces.
Daniel was a 1953 graduate of Cathedral High School. He was part of the US Army Honor Guard while stationed in Germany. He retired from Southern Pacific Railroad after 30+ years where he was a car inspector. He enjoyed watching sports, especially if it involved his children or grandchildren and was very proud of each of them.

Visitation will be held Thursday February 9, 2017 at Martin Funeral Home – Central from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a 7:00pm rosary. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am Friday February 10, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with interment to follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
