Betty graduated in 1963 from El Paso Technical High School. She began her professional career at Zales and Shain’s Jewelry Store, while attending night classes at Texas Western College. In 1974 she married and had her daughter Sandra.
Betty then pivoted and began her banking career with State National Bank. She also worked for Bassett National Bank and Wells Fargo, she then transitioned to Accion El Paso. Always a hard worker, she loved to keep herself busy by knitting, crocheting, and a wide range of arts & crafts.
Once she retired, her focused turned to working with San Juan Catholic Church. She embedded herself with various groups making bread, cookies, tamales, and anything else that would raise funds for the church. Betty also led a group of women in a knitting and crocheting class for the church, while participating in the church choir group.
Betty's love, talents, and colorful personality are irreplaceable. Her passion and dedication to family and friends will always be remembered.
Cipriana is survived by her daughter Sandra Garcia (Christopher); her sister Guadalupe Amaro and her sister Virginia Serna (Louie R); her grandson Shaun A Garcia and her grandson Nicholas A Garcia.
Cipriana also leaves behind many nieces and nephews to cherish her memory.
Cipriana was preceded in death by her husband Armando Nevárez; her mother Consuelo Muro Gonzalez and her father Amador Gonzalez A.
Visitation for Cipriana will be held Tuesday, November 15, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with Vigil at 6:00 PM at Funeraria del Angel Central, 3839 Montana Avenue, El Paso, Texas 79903. Funeral mass will be on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at 9:30 AM at San Juan Bautista Catholic Church, 5649 Dailey Avenue. El Paso, Texas 79905. Committal service to follow at 11:00 AM at Memory Gardens of the Valley, 4900 McNutt Rd., Santa Teresa, New Mexico 88008.
