Celia loved the Lord deeply. As a child, she would join her grandmother at Guardian Angel Catholic Church for the morning cenicitas (cenaculos), praying a daily rosary to the Virgen Mary. Celia was devoted to Mary, our Lady of Fatima, praying at least 4 rosaries a day, one for each of her children and their families. She read her bible everyday, and loved giving out rosaries and brochures and Our Lady of Fatima bumper stickers to neighbors, and people at her doctor appointments, asking if they would like to learn to pray the rosary. She announced she was evangelizing! Celia was faithful, intelligent, political, forceful, hyper and very artsy. She wrote the best cards! Celia was an Elections Monitor for almost 20 years, and worked at W.T. Grants as a teenager. Later, Celia was a teacher's aid for SISD, and became a certified substitute teacher, working with children with special needs. She also loved working with children in Religious Formation, and spent many hours sewing, painting, making handouts and prayer books, dolls, sleeping bags, and blankets for her grandchildren and other children. Celia was wheelchair bound for much of her life, and even taught in religious formation from her wheelchair. She was amazing.
