Cecilia "Cici" Brewster

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Cecilia A (de Jesus Apodaca) Brewster, 88, who passed on to eternal rest on Sunday, March 5, 2023. Cecilia was born in El Paso, TX on October 16. 1934.

She graduated from Ysleta High School, and later married her loving husband, Samuel Brewster. In her earlier years, she was an avid and talented painter and musician. The instruments she played included the trumpet, piano, and the organ. Cecilia also took a large interest in sports, in particular watching tennis, the Cowboys, Spurs, Astros, Texas Rangers, and Texas Longhorns.

She will always be remembered for her caring nature and the love she had for her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Linda Brewster, Kathy Brewster, Annette Melton, Michael Brewster, and sons-in-law George Cooper and Dwain Melton.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Samuel Brewster; parents, Juan and Alejandra Apodaca; brother, Jerry Apodaca; sister, Esperanza Villanueva; sister-in-law, Margie Apodaca; brothers in-law, Manuel Villanueva, John Brewster and Willie Brewster; cousins, Liborio (Goyo) Carrasco, Chavela Robles; granddaughter, Melissa Frankland, and niece Enedina Villanueva.

Cecilia is also survived by and will be missed by her many grandchildren, Jeff Brewster, Jason Brewster, Kerri Wakefield, Christi Brewster, Kirsty Brewster, Tristan Brewster, Briana Brewster, Amanda Melton, Sammy Melton, and Adam Walker; great-grandchildren, Romeo Brewster, Will Wakefield, and Violet Wakefield; nieces, Teresita Villanueva, Mary (Antonio) Perez, Yolanda Finneran, Yvonne Larson, and Debra Berger; nephews, David Apodaca and John Apodaca; cousins, Sonia Saenz, Jimmy Perkins, Jackie Saenz, and Joe Tony Saenz; brothers-in-law, Lewis Brewster, Jimmie Brewster, and Joe Reyes; sisters-in-law, Gloria Brewster, Nancy Brewster, Cindy Brewster, Cora Reyes, Emily Brewster, and Hilda Brewster.

Cecilia was blessed to also have many friends whom she adored and was grateful to have in her life.

All services will be held on Monday, March 20th 2023 at Our Lady of Mt Carmel Catholic Church - 131 South Zaragoza Rd, El Paso, TX 79907. Visitation will be from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. A Vigil/Rosary will be from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM. The funeral mass will be at 12:30. The funeral procession will depart from Our Lady of Mt Carmel Catholic Church by 2:00 PM. The burial ceremony will be at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery (5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, TX 79906).
